Incheon National University (President Park Jong-tae) announced that Kang Seung-taek, a professor of information and communication engineering, has published a specialized engineering book "Smart Antennas For 5G+" at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEE), a world-renowned academic organization.
The book was published by IEEE, the head of academic activities of electrical, electronic, and telecommunications engineers and computer experts from all over the world, and includes contents that belong to the field of smart mobile communication technology, in which research institutes and companies from around the world rush to develop and take the initiative, along with artificial intelligence technology and AI-based industries.
It focuses on the foundation and core (Fundamentals and Core Muscles) of 5G mobile communication as well as 6G mobile communication connecting low-orbit (LEO) satellites to the ground for efficient energy management, ultra-high speed, and ultra-low latency large-capacity data transmission, and deals with the design of new antennas that overcome and propagate attenuation that inevitably meets when resonating in space. It also presents a new RF metamaterial technology that significantly reduces energy consumption in communication repeaters and terminals, and includes various research results on HW process, communication performance measurement, and accuracy improvement theory in 5G mobile communication in collaboration with professors from MIT, Georgia Tech, Aalborg University, and UP de Cartagena University, who are masters of IEEE APS and IEEE MTTS. Some of the contents will also appear in the journal IEEE AP Magazine.
Professor Kang Seung-taek, who has been engaged in writing activities while carrying out research projects on satellite technology, including the head of the Radio and Satellite ITRC Center, the vice president of the Korean Telecommunications Association, the CAS-500 Advisory Group, the mission of SCSS, JC-SAT TPC, and the National Defense Satellite Technology, said, "I look forward to the next mission," and added, "I will contribute to securing and training the fundamentals of K-IT."
